Valentine’s Day DIY beauty gift idea 2020
DIY solid shampoo for dry hair
Sodium Coco-Sulfate is an anionic surfactant in a solid form derived from coconut oil. This surfactant has a strong foaming power, excellent as a primary surfactant, or even use as a secondary surfactant. This ingredient will allow us to obtain clean hair without weighing it down.
I recommend not exceeding 15% in the production of liquid products and or 80% in the solid ones.
ATTENTION!!! Always use gloves and a mask when using this product because it can irritate the eyes or respiratory tract if inhaled.
Well, girls, we have used coconut oil in many of our natural and DIY recipes:
- for the natural and DIY hair masks
- our natural and DIY shampoos
- the body scrub that you liked so much
- for the natural sunscreens for hair.
As you can see, coconut oil is also one of the main ingredients in this latest Valentine’s Day DIY beauty gift idea 2020, too.
Do you want to know why, regardless of which recipe we make, we always find coconut oil among the ingredients?
Because coconut oil is rich in saturated fats (especially lauric acid), antioxidant vitamins and nutrients (in particular, it is rich in vitamin E). This oil helps us soften the hair, making it shiny, as well as being an excellent emollient for delicate scalps.
What types of hair is it suitable for?
All hair types, no doubt❣ In particular, it is recommended for those with dry or damaged hair with hairdryers and hair straighteners. In fact, by using this oil in a constant way, you will rehydrate your scalp. With the result that over time, your hair will be stronger, more voluminous and shinier.
Obviously, thanks to coconut oil, frizzy hair will be just a bad memory❣
Are split ends a problem?
This is a problem that we all face, unfortunately.
With constant washing, hairdryers, hair straighteners, etc, a few months from our last haircut, there they are❣ The dreaded split ends. But as I anticipated earlier, this oil also has restorative properties. Obviously, I don’t mean that your split ends will disappear like magic, but you will surely prevent their appearance.
Last but not least, it is also highly recommended for those who have delicate or irritated skin. This thanks to its emollient, antifungal and antibacterial properties.
The second ingredient used in this recipe is Shea Butter. This is not the first time we are using this ingredient, right?
Let’s see why this ingredient is also so recurrent in our recipes.
Shea butter has many properties, in particular:
- Soothing and anti-inflammatory for the skin
- Antioxidant properties
- Protective properties
- Nourishing and emollient properties on skin and hair.
Well, what is there to say? It’s a real healthy touch for our hair.
This butter is widely used in cosmetics. In fact, thanks to its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, it is widely used to reduce redness, sunburn, irritated skin and against scars.
Its antioxidant properties make it an excellent ally against wrinkles. It also has high protection against UV rays, helping us to fight skin aging caused by these sun rays.
Finally, its protective, nourishing and emollient properties make it an excellent ally to the beauty of our skin and hair. Shea butter helps us to have hydrated, soft and shiny hair.
For the skin, it hydrates it in depth, leaving it soft, toned and elastic.
Another ingredient that we used in our solid shampoo recipe was cocoa butter.
Let’s learn all the beneficial properties❣
Cocoa butter is known for its properties that stimulate collagen production. This butter is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids. For this reason, it is an excellent product for nourishing, protecting and giving elasticity to skin and hair.
By using this product consistently, you will notice significant improvements. Less dry skin and hair toned skin and you will say goodbye to the itching caused by dry skin or dry scalp.
Thanks to these nutritional properties and the presence of antioxidants, cocoa butter manages to make the skin toned and elastic. In other words, it is an excellent ally against stretch marks and wrinkles.
This butter does not lack in vitamin E and phytosterols as well. That makes it an excellent anti-inflammatory, very useful to prevent blackheads and a product with strong repairing actions.
But that is not all❣ Being very moisturizing, cocoa butter is excellent as a product to treat dry skin and hair, chapped lips and sunburn.
Lavender essential oil and tea tree essential oil
As the last ingredients, we will look at in more detail are essential oils.
For our recipe for natural and DIY solid shampoo, we used:
Lavender essential oil
This oil helps promote:
- cognitive functions
Meanwhile, it helps fight:
- panic attacks
In addition to all these relaxing properties, this essential oil is widely used in cosmetics as well. In fact, it is one of the main ingredients in many hair cares products as it has soothing, cicatrizing and toning antiseptic properties. We must not forget its sebum-regulating populations. In short, it is an excellent product to relieve scalp irritations or to combat dandruff. Its toned properties, on the other hand, make it excellent for combating hair loss.
Tea tree essential oil
Tea Tree oil helps promote:
and it helps fight:
Antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-fungal, with balsamic, cicatrizing and emulsifying characteristics, this essential oil is excellent for:
- fighting lice
- fighting hair loss
- excellent for oily hair (thanks to its emulsifying properties, it regulates the production of excess sebum)
- nail fungus
- cold sores.
